It is very unique color mixture with Light Brown and Amber, and also a bit of Smokey tone. The finish is slightly glossy, which makes the colors really stand out with light. This Composite Lampshade Mica is available in 12” X 12”sheets. The thickness is .5mm or 1mm, your choice.
* This type of mica is NOT able to be exposed to open flame as it will melt due to the resin content. Therefore it is not to be used as windows for wood or coal stoves.

Composite Mica also known as Lampshade Mica is made of natural mica slivers bound together by resin. This makes it able to be bent and manipulated when heat is applied. This Mica is wonderful to used in making lampshades, book making, collage art, photography and so much more.
*How to use this product… Lampshade mica is easily shaped by evenly heating for less than a minute. This can be done using a clothes iron, hot plate or heat gun. When heating mica be sure to place it between sheets of parchment paper so it does not stick to the surface that you are heating it on. Once mica sheet is softened, gently mold the mica over a cast or form. It can be easily trimmed when soft. Once cooled, the mica sheet recovers its firmness while maintaining the desired shape.
